Information for Funders

We are a charity working to benefit the health of people living in one of the most deprived areas of the UK.  Teaching people to sail gives them the knowledge, skill and confidence to take part in a sociable and healthy pastime on their doorsteps.  Dinghy sailing with a sailing club is a very affordable activity, once the initial training is completed.

St. Ives Sailing School actively seeks grant funding to support our training activities.  We have been supported in the past by Sport England and Tesco Bags for Life, as well as receiving generous donations from local individuals and organisations.  We pride ourselves on delivering high quality courses to everyone.

We will work with GP Social Prescribers and other local organisations to identify people and families who will benefit from the courses that we offer.  We train our students to nationally accredited standards, and give them qualifications that will allow them to sail all over the UK and around the world.  All of our staff are volunteers; all of the money we raise goes directly into running our training activities.
